Created using Blender & 3DVista

Brief

Explore Blender and 3DVista’s capabilities for creating interactive versions of real equipment for training.

Solution

A client approached us with the idea of creating interactive models of quite a few pieces of digital equipment. However, the time frame was too short to 3D model all of them from scratch. I produced this demo using an old video player I had at home which was similar in size and detail to the real equipment and used photogrammetry to speed up the creation process.

After walking the object from several angles, Kiri Engine to create a 3D model from these images and Blender was used to retopologise the asset and clean up the textures. In this example, only the plug and cable were 3D modelled conventionally. The model was then animated in Blender and brought into 3Dvista to add the interface and export for the web.
